Academic Misconduct Benchmarking Research (AMBeR) project (UK)

Le projet AMBeR visait à identifier l’étendue et la nature des sanctions en cas de plagiat avéré dans les institutions d’enseignement supérieur du Royaume-Uni et soulève par la suite des préoccupations quant aux variations sur la manière dont ces sanctions sont appliquées d’une institution à l’autre.Le projet était une triple étude des aspects réglementaires et pratiques du traitement du plagiat chez les étudiants.  Enfin, à la suite d’une consultation avec un échantillon d’institutions, une grille d’analyse des cas de plagiat comprenant critères et pointage a été élaborée afin de servir de cadre de référence dans l’établissement et la révision des politiques et procédures institutionnelles.

The AMBeR project aimed to identify the range and nature of penalties applicable to cases of student plagiarism in UK Higher Education Institutions (HEI) and arose following concerns that penalties were being applied inconsistently from one institution to another. Ultimately the project aimed to consider the feasibility of a generic penalty tariff which can be applied across the sector.The project involved a three-fold study of the regulatory and practical aspects of dealing with student plagiarism. Finally, following a consultation exercise with a group of institutions a penalty tariff was developed for use as a benchmark for establishing and reviewing institutional policies and procedures.

Report on the Findings of the 2012 Academic Integrity Survey

The Office of Academic Integrity (OAI), in collaboration with Dr. Don McCabe of Rutgers University, conducted a survey on academic integrity at the University of Waterloo in October 2012. The survey asked students (undergraduate and graduate), faculty, and teaching assistants (TAs) questions regarding integrity specific to their experiences at uWaterloo.

The academic integrity student survey was open during the period June-August 2011 across the six Australian project partner institutions of the  Academic Integrity Standards Project (AISP) – University of South Australia, La Trobe University, The University of Adelaide, The University of Western Australia, University of Wollongong and The University of Newcastle.
