Tremblay<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Contexte<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les vieilles for\u00eats, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire les peuplements multig\u00e9n\u00e9rationnels dynamis\u00e9s par des perturbations de faible intensit\u00e9, sont naturellement abondantes dans les paysages forestiers bor\u00e9aux. Toutefois, ces \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes sont d\u00e9sormais en d\u00e9clin suite \u00e0 l\u2019essor de l\u2019exploitation foresti\u00e8re \u00e0 \u00e9chelle industrielle. Les strat\u00e9gies d\u2019am\u00e9nagement forestier cherchent donc dor\u00e9navant \u00e0 conserver une superficie minimum de vieilles for\u00eats r\u00e9siduelles dans les territoires am\u00e9nag\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e9anmoins, les vieilles for\u00eats sont encore souvent per\u00e7ues comme des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes homog\u00e8nes et statiques, alors que les connaissances actuelles de l\u2019\u00e9cologie des for\u00eats bor\u00e9ales laissent \u00e0 penser qu\u2019elles seraient au contraire diversifi\u00e9es et dynamiques. Ne pas reconna\u00eetre cette complexit\u00e9 pourrait ainsi limiter l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des mesures de conservation prise \u00e0 leur encontre, car seulement certains types de vieilles for\u00eats pourraient \u00eatre conserv\u00e9s aux d\u00e9pens des autres.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objectif du doctorat<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nL\u2019objectif de ce doctorat est donc d\u2019am\u00e9liorer nos connaissances par rapport \u00e0 la diversit\u00e9, \u00e0 la dynamique et \u00e0 la conservation des vieilles for\u00eats bor\u00e9ales dans le domaine bioclimatique de la pessi\u00e8re \u00e0 mousse.<\/p>\n<p>Principaux r\u00e9sultats<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Les vieilles for\u00eats bor\u00e9ales peuvent se diviser en plus d\u2019une dizaine de structures aux caract\u00e9ristiques sp\u00e9cifiques. Le type de structure d\u00e9pend principalement de la topographie du site et du temps depuis le dernier feu de for\u00eat. La diversit\u00e9 structurelle augmente n\u00e9anmoins avec l\u2019\u00e2ge des peuplements, probablement en raison de l\u2019influence des perturbations naturelles secondaires.<\/p>\n<div>&#8211;\u00a0La dynamique des vieilles for\u00eats bor\u00e9ales r\u00e9sulte de la combinaison de perturbations naturelles de s\u00e9v\u00e9rit\u00e9s faibles et mod\u00e9r\u00e9es. Les perturbations de s\u00e9v\u00e9rit\u00e9 mod\u00e9r\u00e9e suivent un patron temporel cyclique, d\u00e9pendant notamment des \u00e9pid\u00e9mies de tordeuse des bourgeons de l\u2019\u00e9pinette. Au contraire, les perturbations de s\u00e9v\u00e9rit\u00e9 faible suivent un patron temporel homog\u00e8ne, avec peu de variations d\u2019une ann\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019autre.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h4>Symphonies bor\u00e9ales<\/h4>\n<div>Projet artistique\u00a0cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de donn\u00e9es dendrochronologiques de vieilles for\u00eats bor\u00e9ales.
