Cette analyse a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e \u00e0 la demande du R\u00e9seau d\u2019expertise et de valorisation en biomasse de La Matap\u00e9dia.<\/p>\n<p>Les conclusions de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude indiquent qu\u2019en comparaison avec l\u2019utilisation de mazout pour le chauffage d\u2019un b\u00e2timent institutionnel, la biomasse foresti\u00e8re r\u00e9siduelle apporte des gains environnementaux significatifs, particuli\u00e8rement pour la r\u00e9duction des \u00e9missions de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre. C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois qu\u2019une analyse de cycle de vie comparative sur le sujet est publi\u00e9e au Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 partir de l\u2019analyse du changement de la source d\u2019\u00e9nergie pour le chauffage du Centre de sant\u00e9 et de services sociaux de La Matap\u00e9dia \u00e0 Amqui, l\u2019\u00e9tude a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que le chauffage \u00e0 la biomasse foresti\u00e8re r\u00e9siduelle produisait 2,4 fois moins de gaz \u00e0 effet de serre que le syst\u00e8me pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent aliment\u00e9 \u00e0 90% \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et \u00e0 10% au mazout. \u00ab\u00a0Pour un syst\u00e8me aliment\u00e9 compl\u00e8tement au mazout, les gains sont de l\u2019ordre de 15 fois moins d\u2019\u00e9missions, ce qui est tr\u00e8s significatif. Cela d\u00e9montre l\u2019\u00e9norme potentiel qu\u2019on peut tirer de la biomasse foresti\u00e8re pour le chauffage institutionnel. C\u2019est aussi un excellent moyen de r\u00e9duire notre d\u00e9pendance au p\u00e9trole tout en am\u00e9liorant notre performance environnementale\u00a0\u00bb,\u00a0souligne Claude Villeneuve, professeur au D\u00e9partement des sciences fondamentales et directeur de la Chaire en \u00e9co-conseil de l&rsquo;UQAC.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019analyse de cycle de vie est une m\u00e9thode d\u2019\u00e9valuation des impacts environnementaux qui prend en compte tous les impacts de l\u2019extraction des ressources, de leur transformation, de la fabrication, de l\u2019utilisation et \u00e0 la disposition des d\u00e9chets incluant toute l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019\u00e9nergie et le transport. On parle du cycle de vie d\u2019un produit ou d\u2019un service \u00ab\u00a0du berceau au tombeau\u00a0\u00bb. L\u2019\u00e9tude a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e avec des donn\u00e9es primaires provenant de la Coop\u00e9rative foresti\u00e8re de La Matap\u00e9dia du CSSS de La Matap\u00e9dia et a dur\u00e9 deux ans.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019analyse de cycle de vie comparative r\u00e9alis\u00e9e selon la norme internationale ISO 14044 doit \u00eatre r\u00e9vis\u00e9e par une tierce partie ind\u00e9pendante et cr\u00e9dible pour \u00eatre communiqu\u00e9e au public.
