Le r\u00e9chauffement climatique modifie la structure et la fonction de ces \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes, et d\u00e9place vers le nord la limite des arbres. Cependant, le futur des for\u00eats reste difficile \u00e0 pr\u00e9dire en raison des interactions entre les arbres et les autres composantes de l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me. Xiaoxia Li, stagiaire postdoctorale sous la supervision de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uqac.ca\/portfolio\/sergiorossi\/\">Sergio Rossi<\/a>, professeur au <a href=\"https:\/\/recherche.uqac.ca\/laboratoire-sur-les-ecosystemes-terrestres-boreaux-ecoter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laboratoire sur les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes terrestres bor\u00e9aux (EcoTer)<\/a>, a relev\u00e9 le d\u00e9fi en \u00e9tudiant comment les interactions entre les arbustes et les arbres modulent la dynamique foresti\u00e8re au plateau tib\u00e9tain.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9tude, publi\u00e9e dans <em>National Science Review<\/em>, a montr\u00e9 que des printemps plus chauds acc\u00e9l\u00e8rent la r\u00e9activation de la croissance chez les arbres, mais retardent celle des arbustes. Ce d\u00e9calage temporel produit un avantage comp\u00e9titif pour la progression des arbres vers les r\u00e9gions plus froides, en offrant une nouvelle explication de la dynamique foresti\u00e8re dans un contexte de changement climatique.<\/p>\n<p>Xiaoxia Li a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 son stage postdoctoral dans le cadre de la collaboration internationale entre l\u2019UQAC et l\u2019Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie chinoise des sciences \u00e0 Beijing, o\u00f9 elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9cemment recrut\u00e9e comme professeure associ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>R\u00e9f\u00e9rence de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Li X<\/strong>, Liang E, Camarero JJ, Rossi S, Zhang J, Zhu H, Fu YH, Sun J, Wang T, Piao S, Pe\u00f1uelas J (2023) Warming-induced phenological mismatch between trees and shrubs explains high-elevation forest expansion.
