Sous la direction de <a href=\"https:\/\/portfolio.uqac.ca\/xgrantchen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X. Grant Chen<\/a> (UQAC) et la codirection de recherche de Paul Rometsch (Rio Tinto), sa th\u00e8se a pour titre \u00ab <em>Aluminium alloys for additive manufacturing towards higher strength alloys<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Sous la pr\u00e9sidence de Mousa Javidani (UQAC), le jury d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 de Dilip Sarkar (UQAC) et de Ehab Elsharkawi (Saint Mary\u2019s University).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h5>R\u00e9sum\u00e9 de la th\u00e8se<\/h5>\n<p>La demande croissante de mat\u00e9riaux l\u00e9gers dans les industries de haute technologie a acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9 l&rsquo;adoption des alliages d&rsquo;aluminium dans les proc\u00e9d\u00e9s de Fusion S\u00e9lective par Laser (SLM), en particulier pour les applications n\u00e9cessitant des g\u00e9om\u00e9tries complexes. Les alliages couramment utilis\u00e9s, tels que l&rsquo;AlSi10Mg et l&rsquo;AlSi12, offrent une bonne aptitude au proc\u00e9d\u00e9, mais pr\u00e9sentent des limites pour atteindre des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques \u00e9lev\u00e9es apr\u00e8s SLM et traitements thermiques. En revanche, les alliages d&rsquo;aluminium \u00e0 haute r\u00e9sistance pr\u00e9sentent une faible aptitude au proc\u00e9d\u00e9 SLM, ce qui constitue un obstacle \u00e0 leur utilisation \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle dans l&rsquo;industrie. Cette \u00e9tude explore la production d&rsquo;alliages d&rsquo;aluminium par le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 SLM, dans le but de d\u00e9passer les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques des alliages conventionnels AlSi10Mg. La recherche est divis\u00e9e en trois parties principales, se concentrant sur la conception des mat\u00e9riaux, l&rsquo;optimisation des param\u00e8tres du SLM, la caract\u00e9risation microstructurale et l&rsquo;\u00e9volution des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques.<\/p>\n<p>Dans la premi\u00e8re partie, les effets de divers traitements thermiques sur les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques et l\u2019\u00e9volution microstructurale d\u2019un alliage AlSi10MgMn contenant 0,5 % en poids de Mn, produit par SLM, ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9s. La microstructure a \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9e par microscopie optique, microscopie \u00e9lectronique \u00e0 balayage (SEM), diffraction des \u00e9lectrons r\u00e9trodiffus\u00e9s (EBSD) et microscopie \u00e9lectronique en transmission (TEM). \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9tat brut de fabrication (F), l\u2019alliage pr\u00e9sentait une r\u00e9sistance ultime \u00e0 la traction (UTS) de 486 MPa, une limite d\u2019\u00e9lasticit\u00e9 (YS) de 299 MPa et un allongement de 10,3 %. Apr\u00e8s un traitement T5, l\u2019UTS et le YS ont augment\u00e9 \u00e0 532 MPa et 386 MPa, respectivement, soit une am\u00e9lioration remarquable de 30 % du YS par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat F. Ces propri\u00e9t\u00e9s d\u00e9passaient largement celles des alliages AlSi10Mg conventionnels dans les conditions F, T5 et T6. Le traitement T5 a favoris\u00e9 la pr\u00e9cipitation de nanoparticules riches en Si et de pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9s \u00e0 base de MgSi sans perturber le r\u00e9seau riche en Si. Apr\u00e8s un traitement T6, ce r\u00e9seau a compl\u00e8tement disparu, et la phase de renforcement principale \u00e9tait constitu\u00e9e de pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9s \u00e0 base de MgSi et de disperso\u00efdes \u03b1-Al(Mn,Fe)Si induits par l\u2019ajout de Mn. \u00c0 l\u2019aide de mod\u00e8les constitutifs bas\u00e9s sur la microstructure, les contributions des diff\u00e9rents composants microstructuraux \u00e0 la r\u00e9sistance m\u00e9canique ont \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Dans la deuxi\u00e8me partie, l\u2019effet de la modification par le Mn sur les alliages AlSi10Mg produits par SLM a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9. Les microstructures dans diff\u00e9rentes conditions de traitement thermique ont \u00e9t\u00e9 analys\u00e9es par SEM, EBSD, TEM et tomographie par sonde atomique (APT). L\u2019ajout de 0,5 % en poids de Mn a permis d\u2019augmenter la limite d\u2019\u00e9lasticit\u00e9 (YS) de 17 %, 30 % et 29 % dans les conditions F, T5 et T6, respectivement, par rapport \u00e0 l\u2019alliage AlSi10Mg standard. Ces am\u00e9liorations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 principalement attribu\u00e9es \u00e0 une densit\u00e9 accrue de nanoparticules dans les \u00e9tats F et T5, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019introduction de la phase \u03b1-Al(Mn,Fe)Si, qui modifie la composition chimique du r\u00e9seau eutectique riche en Si, am\u00e9liorant ainsi les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques globales. IV<\/p>\n<p>Dans la troisi\u00e8me partie, l\u2019impact des additions de raffineurs de grains TiB sur l\u2019\u00e9volution microstructurale, la susceptibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 la fissuration \u00e0 chaud et les propri\u00e9t\u00e9s m\u00e9caniques des alliages Al-Cu 224 a \u00e9t\u00e9 examin\u00e9 afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer leurs performances en SLM. Une m\u00e9thode de refusion laser de surface (LSR) a simul\u00e9 la solidification rapide par laser. Les r\u00e9sultats ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que l\u2019addition de particules TiB2 a \u00e9limin\u00e9 les fissures de solidification, r\u00e9duisant les tailles de grains de 13-15 \u03bcm \u00e0 5,5 \u03bcm et 3,2 \u03bcm avec 0,34 % et 0,65 % en poids de Ti, respectivement. La duret\u00e9 des alliages modifi\u00e9s a atteint 117 et 130 HV apr\u00e8s un traitement T6, surpassant celle des alliages AlSi10Mg de 15 \u00e0 30 %. Cette am\u00e9lioration est attribu\u00e9e \u00e0 la formation de grains fins et de pr\u00e9cipit\u00e9s nanom\u00e9triques \u03b8\u02ca\/\u03b8 \u030b.
