Sous la direction de recherche de <a href=\"https:\/\/portfolio.uqac.ca\/rezajafariaminabadi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reza Jafari<\/a> (UQAC) et la codirection de Guy Simard (UQAC), sa th\u00e8se a pour titre \u00ab<em>Development of multifunctional bauxite residue-based Geopolymer enhanced with hybrid photothermal and electrical system for cold regions<\/em>\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Sous la pr\u00e9sidence de <a href=\"https:\/\/portfolio.uqac.ca\/mathieufiset\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mathieu Fiset<\/a> (UQAC), le jury d&rsquo;\u00e9valuation \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 de Liew Yun Ming (Universiti Malaysia Perlis), et de V\u00e9ronique Savard (UQAC).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h5>R\u00e9sum\u00e9 de la th\u00e8se<\/h5>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sidus de bauxite constituent l&rsquo;un des plus importants flux de d\u00e9chets industriels g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle mondiale lors de la production d&rsquo;alumine. Leur forte alcalinit\u00e9, leur volume de production \u00e9lev\u00e9 et les exigences de stockage \u00e0 long terme qu&rsquo;ils requi\u00e8rent posent des probl\u00e8mes environnementaux et \u00e9conomiques majeurs. Par cons\u00e9quent, la valorisation des r\u00e9sidus de bauxite comme pr\u00e9curseur de g\u00e9opolym\u00e8res offre une voie prometteuse pour transformer ce sous-produit en mat\u00e9riau de construction, tout en r\u00e9duisant la d\u00e9pendance au ciment Portland.<\/p>\n<p>Cette th\u00e8se de doctorat \u00e9tudie le d\u00e9veloppement de syst\u00e8mes g\u00e9opolym\u00e8res multifonctionnels \u00e0 partir de r\u00e9sidus de bauxite humides filtr\u00e9s et press\u00e9s, ainsi que d&rsquo;autres d\u00e9chets industriels, pour des applications en r\u00e9gions nordiques. La recherche met l&rsquo;accent sur l&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration de la durabilit\u00e9 face aux cycles de gel-d\u00e9gel et \u00e0 l&rsquo;exposition aux sels de d\u00e9gla\u00e7age, ainsi que sur l&rsquo;int\u00e9gration de fonctionnalit\u00e9s photothermiques et de conductivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique pour le d\u00e9givrage et le d\u00e9neigement, afin de d\u00e9velopper des g\u00e9opolym\u00e8res durables capable de chauffage passif par \u00e9nergie solaire et de chauffage actif par induction \u00e9lectrique.<\/p>\n<details>\n<summary><strong>Voir plus<\/strong><\/summary>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re phase de cette recherche porte sur l&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration de la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9caillage des g\u00e9opolym\u00e8res \u00e0 base de r\u00e9sidus de bauxite par le remplacement des cendres volantes par de la poudre de verre recycl\u00e9 (0 \u00e0 100 %). Diff\u00e9rents rapports cendres volantes\/poudre de verre recycl\u00e9 ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9s afin d&rsquo;optimiser la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la compression et la durabilit\u00e9 au gel-d\u00e9gel. Le m\u00e9lange optimal, avec un rapport Si\/Al proche de 3,5, a atteint des r\u00e9sistances \u00e0 la compression sup\u00e9rieures \u00e0 40 MPa tout en d\u00e9montrant une meilleure r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9caillage sous l\u2019action des sels de d\u00e9gla\u00e7age. Cette r\u00e9sistance a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9e par la perte de masse cumul\u00e9e et la quantit\u00e9 de particules d\u00e9tach\u00e9es lors des cycles de gel-d\u00e9gel. Les analyses microstructurales et chimiques, r\u00e9alis\u00e9es par microscopie \u00e9lectronique \u00e0 balayage (MEB), diffraction des rayons X (DRX) et spectroscopie infrarouge \u00e0 transform\u00e9e de Fourier (FTIR), ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 une g\u00e9opolym\u00e9risation accrue et une matrice plus dense dans les m\u00e9langes \u00e0 forte teneur en poudre de verre recycl\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>La deuxi\u00e8me phase explore le d\u00e9veloppement de syst\u00e8mes g\u00e9opolym\u00e8res conducteurs multifonctionnels utilisant des liants \u00e0 base de laitier et de r\u00e9sidus de bauxite incorporant 1 % en masse de graphite et un agr\u00e9gat de spinelle riche en fer (0 \u00e0 100 %) comme charge conductrice. L&rsquo;augmentation de la quantit\u00e9 d&rsquo;agr\u00e9gat conducteur a permis d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer la r\u00e9sistance \u00e0 la compression jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 45,5 \u00b1 2,5 MPa en 28 jours, tout en abaissant la r\u00e9sistivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 des valeurs aussi basses que 42 \u03a9\u00b7m. Sous un ensoleillement artificiel de 1 kW\/m\u00b2, l&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9vation de temp\u00e9rature \u00e0 la surface du g\u00e9opolym\u00e8re conducteur a \u00e9t\u00e9 estim\u00e9e \u00e0 9,8 \u00b0C en 300 secondes, d\u00e9montrant ainsi sa capacit\u00e9 de conversion d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie solaire. Ces r\u00e9sultats ont mis en \u00e9vidence le potentiel des charges conductrices riche en magn\u00e9tite pour assurer simultan\u00e9ment des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s structurales, conductrices et photothermiques.<\/p>\n<p>La troisi\u00e8me phase int\u00e8gre le syst\u00e8me g\u00e9opolym\u00e8re optimis\u00e9 dans un g\u00e9opolym\u00e8re hybride photothermique-\u00e9lectrique destin\u00e9 \u00e0 des applications de fonte de la glace et de la neige. Des m\u00e9langes g\u00e9opolym\u00e8res conducteurs incorporant des agr\u00e9gats \u00e0 base de magn\u00e9tite ont \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9valu\u00e9s sous irradiation solaire simul\u00e9e, exposition \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re solaire ext\u00e9rieure et champs \u00e9lectriques externes. Des tests photothermiques ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 la fonte de la glace (sans alimentation \u00e9lectrique) par chauffage localis\u00e9 de la surface, les surfaces expos\u00e9es atteignant plus de 33 \u00b0C sous une simulation solaire de 1 kW\/m\u00b2. Le chauffage par effet Joule \u00e9lectrique, induit par une excitation \u00e9lectrique externe, s&rsquo;est av\u00e9r\u00e9 suffisant pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer les processus de d\u00e9givrage et de fonte de la neige \u00e0 des temp\u00e9ratures inf\u00e9rieures \u00e0 z\u00e9ro. Le mat\u00e9riau g\u00e9opolym\u00e8re conducteur pr\u00e9sentait une conductivit\u00e9 \u00e9lectrique atteignant 2 mS\/cm.
