  c.1885 Doctor Nahabed Abdalian Dr. Abdalian is known to be the first Gurintsi who went to America. After completing his studies he returned to Gurin.  According to H. Siranosian, Dr. Abdalian has given his diploma and U.S. citizenship documents to the Maranians in Sivas. Dr. Nabdalian was killed during the Hamidian massacres in 1895.

  Between 1920 and 1923 there were a lot of Guruntsis who left for America, mainly due to the last Armenian migration, when they were forced to leave Cilicia. Left without a home or any direction, many went to America. Those people, however, are not listed in these pages. As a result of the new Immigration Act of 1924, which limited the annual number of immigrants who could be admitted into America, priority was given to children and parents of Guruntsis who were already living in the United States. They are listed here below:
