Mission

  • Robust predictive control of electrical machines.
  • Identification and estimation of internal quantities of electrical machines.
  • Large-scale integration of wind power into the grid: provision of system services.
  • Optimization of wind power system production.
  • Power quality: active harmonic filtering.
  • Study and design of wind energy conversion systems large scale integration of wind power into the grid: provision of system services.

History

The laboratory for the identification and control of electrical machines (LICOME) was founded by Professor Mohand Ouhrouche in 2002 to develop at UQAC a new line of research in power electronics and control of electrical machines for various applications, including: Electric Traction (Electric Vehicles), Renewable Energy Conversion Systems and their large-scale integration into power grids.

The LICOME infrastructure was acquired following an infrastructure grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI)
