Development of dynamic humidity and temperature monitoring modules for power transformers
The presence of moisture in the solid insulation (enemy number one of paper) of the windings of transformers accelerates the aging and lowers the temperature at which bubbles can be initiated by vaporization (bubbling). It is therefore important to ensure that the transformer remains dry, that is to say that the moisture content in the paper is less than 2% of the weight. In order to improve the continuous evaluation of moisture in the paper, dynamic humidity monitoring algorithms will be developed. The migration time depends on the temperature and the thickness of the solid insulation. The estimation of the moisture in the paper is also influenced by the precision of the parameters used by the algorithms.
