This Mitacs Accelerate Project is defined to mitigate the problems associated with the accumulation of ice and pollution on the high-voltage insulators and subsequent flashover and power outage. As the high-voltage silicone rubber insulators are manufactured using injection molding systems, this project aims to prepare an industrial injection molding system for fabrication of superhydrophobic insulators.
