How to Get to UQAC
The National car rental agency Car Rental agency is located directly at the airport. We recommend reserving your vehicle in advance online or by calling 418-677-2061.
Travel time
Approximately 15–20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Directions
When exiting the airport, follow the signs for Saguenay/Chicoutimi:
. As you leave the terminal, take the main exit road and follow Chemin de l’Aéroport toward Route 170/Saguenay/Chicoutimi.
· At the roundabout (intersection of Chemin de l’Aéroport and Route 170), take the exit for Route 170 Ouest toward Chicoutimi/Saguenay.
· Travel along Route 170 Ouest.
· Continue on Route 170 for approximately 15 km, following the signs for Chicoutimi.
Approaching Chicoutimi:
· Stay on Route 170, which becomes Boulevard Talbot.
· At the marked intersection, turn onto Boulevard de l’Université (toward UQAC).
· Continue for a few hundred metres to the UQAC campus.
Taxis are available directly in front of the terminal exit. Reservations are not required (but you can call in advance). The estimated fare is between $25 and $40, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions.

A number of options are available for persons with reduced mobility or specific needs.
- The Saguenay–Bagotville Airport is Kéroul certified and offers accessible facilities (parking, adapted washrooms, assistance services, etc.).

We encourage passengers to book accessible transport several days in advance and to specify their requirements at the time of booking.

- The campus has numerous parking lots located around the various pavilions.
- Parking will be available free of charge from June 8 to 12, 2026.

- French is the primary language used in the region and on campus; however, many staff and students are also able to communicate in English.
Climate in June
- In Saguenay, daytime temperatures are generally mild to warm (15–25°C), while evenings tend to be cooler (around 10°C). We recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater for the evenings.
